Hi All:
I just got back from my 1/2 way doctors appointment with my regular OBGYN and thought I would share as tomorrow is another big day with the big ultrasound appointment.
We went over my Marker testing and since we did the Full Integrated Screening which is 90% accurate I was expecting to see some markers..if nothing, due to my age BUT IT WAS CLEAN!!! The screen was NEGATIVE all around. We discussed all the tests that were run and we are in the clear. Nothing is 100% except an Amnio, my doctor said she would NOT suggest we do one at this point as everything was on track. YEA!!!!
I weigh in a 147 which is 8 more than last month and 12 more than my first visit, so I am up 12lbs which she said is right on the mark. She said I will most likely gain most of my weight in the last few months so to try to watch what I am eating now so that it isnt too hard to eat right at the end. Seems easy enough.
I told her about the non-movement and she said due to the placement of my uterus/placenta, I probably won't feel anything for a few more weeks; if not another month. Some people just dont. We listened to the heartbeat and it was strong and loud. It started at 150 and got up to 157 through the full minute of monitoring. She said it would fluxuate like that if the baby was moving..although I still couldn't feel it. She also said the heartbeat is a sign of a baby girl although I will say that Michael was 154 throughout and he WASNT a girl so I took that statement with a grain of salt.
We talked a little about inducing as that is what I did with Michael 21 years ago and it was a wonderful experience but her group of doctors are set on waiting the full 40 weeks before even considering inducing and then once the 40weeks hit, she will induce based on her oncall schedule so that she is the one doing the elective inducement. Sounds good to me but will talk with her more closer to the date.
Next appointment on the 23rd of August with the nurse practicioner and hopefully we are able to do a quick ultrasound with Chris in town that day. If not, I am going to try to get an ultrasound through my high risk doctor. Need to work no that this week. WISH ME LUCK.
Tomorrow is the big day for the BIG ULTRASOUND. They will measure the head, the placenta walls, look for the 4 chambers of the heard, review the spine and we should be able to see the blood vessels and liver and..... we COULD find out the sex...BUT AT THIS TIME..still holding on to wait. I have to look away from the screen for 10 minutes as they review the lower portion of Baby C as not to see what sex he/she is. I cannot wait for tomorrow.
It is 91 today and hotter than heck. Although much cooler than Florida so I will take it. On Sunday it was 105 and 80% humidity. How do people live there being prego?
Oh and for those not on facebook, the BA Wives threw me a surprise baby shower on Monday night. It was such a great time for sure and I got so many things. I brought the smaller items home in a suitcase I borrowed from Chris and then Chris will mail the rest of them home next week. I got a bobby pillow, cover, hooded towels, washclothes, bottle brush, starter set of my registered bottles, bibs, I love Mommy and Daddy onsies, books, new Holiday tradition book with baby called Elf on a Shelf, soothing sound giraffe, soothing sound teddy bear, plastic links, rattle, teether, binkies, blankets, gift card to Target, Mommy stuff like balm, lip moisturizer in a carrying case, highchair and shopping basket cover, first hand or foot print maker, first blanket with teddy bear attached...and so much more.... it was perfect. Thanks again ladies...you rock!!!!
Ok off to get some work done. Happy Wednesday everyone!
Tracey and Baby C
