Hi All:
I think I have done 3 write-up's this week and will hopefully not do that again but so much going on this week I had to share.
Today was my 20 week ultrasound. It took about 40 minutes from start to finish and it went really well. I wondered if all the moms to be ask as many questions as I did as the lady that did my ultrasound seemed to just want to do her job and get done. I was like..no way...you are going to talk to me. LOL
The technician couldn't tell me alot about what she saw as she said she has to report it all to the doctor who can then update me but she said all looked good. 4 chambers of the heart, good spine, 2 legs, 2 feet, 2 hands, 2 arms, shoulders, sections of the brain which was odd but cool, 2 kidneys which I couldnt see but she pointed to them, bladder, stomach so the baby is swallowing, movement as the baby at the end was yawning with hands about the head. SO cute. The skeletal photos were a little odd and she gave me one of Baby C looking at the us but it isnt really that good of a pic and kinda freaky. It open its eyes while we took a pic which was pretty cool.
She asked if we wanted to know but I said No not today. As we were looking around and she was measuring away, she would look at me and go, "NO, that is the umbilical chord" as i am sure she thought it must look like a little wee wee and I thought it was a boy. I could have sworn I saw something BUT then again that dang chord sure does get in the way of knowing what you are actually seeing. Watching the blood flow through the chord was really cool too..all blue and red colors that showed up.
We tracked its heartbeat once again and it was 152 so right on where it has been..between 150 and 157. Again, she noted that was a good sign of a girl BUT Michael was 154 so that isnt really something to go off of.
She also said the reason I cannot feel anything yet and wont for another 2-4 weeks is that my placenta is between my belly and the baby. She showed it to me and it was lining the entire wall and the baby was behind it. He was head down but again, they move so much and even moved from the left to the ride side while we were measuring. It was nice to hear a reason WHY I havent felt it yet but she said I should in a few weeks. YEA!
I unpacked some of the shower gifts I got from the BA wives just a minute ago and the nursery is starting to look like Baby C's room. Need to get the shelves up and the bed and dresser that are in there out but it was fun to put all the blankets and toys and bathroom stuff where they belong. It was a surreal moment thinking that a Baby was going to be here come Dec. Yikes...I need to start to get ready!!!
Got a call from Shannon today which was fun to catch up with her. She and I talked about my registry and that we have a lot of the same things on there and she gave me some notes of some stuff that I might want to take off and such. Love to talk Baby stuff with her as she just had Baby Finley, our God Daughter now 1 year +1 month old today!
Next Doctor appointment is on August 23rd with Chris in town.
I also scheduled an ultrasound appointment downtown SD on Saturday when Chris is here so he can see the baby before Baby C is born. Should be fun to watch it together.
Love you guys. Take care.
Tracey and Baby C
